Youth Poet Laureate, Sierra Elman will be presenting a poetry workshop on family and cultural heritage. Learn how to wrote poetry based on who you are, and how your heritage and family has shaped you.
Sierra is an award-winning poet and author who has loved storytelling since she was three years old.
This program is for teens and is part of the Silicon Valley Reads 2026 program Bridges to Belonging

The Silicon Valley Reads community engagement program is presented annually by the Santa Clara County Library District, Santa Clara County Office of Education, and San José Public Library in conjunction with other public libraries, community colleges and universities, and community organizations.
