Teen Book Discussion: They Called Us Enemy

Come discuss George Takei's They Called Us Enemy. In this graphic memoir, Takei describes his childhood experience of being incarcerated with his family in a prison camp during World War II. They Called Us Enemy is a New York Times bestseller and winner of numerous awards.

Read the book in advance of the discussion. Then come and share what you noticed, what you felt and, if relevant, your relationship to the history the memoir describes. Copies of the book will be available at the Children's Information Desk for discussion registrants while supplies last.

This discussion is for teens and will take place in the Library Program Room.

On Sunday there will be a livestreamed author talk with George Takei at 2 p.m. in the Library Program Room.

* Note: registration is only required to receive a copy of the book. Doors will close when the room is full.
