Come discuss George Takei's They Called Us Enemy. In this graphic memoir, Takei describes his childhood experience of being incarcerated with his family in a prison camp during World War II. They Called Us Enemy is a New York Times bestseller and winner of numerous awards.
Read the book in advance of the discussion. Then come and share what you noticed, what you felt and, if relevant, your relationship to the history the memoir describes. Copies of the book will be available at the Information Desk for discussion registrants while supplies last. Registration does not guarantee a copy of the book.
This discussion is for adults and will take place online over Zoom. Registration is required.
Alternately, an in-person book discussion will take place Sunday, May 31 at 4 p.m. It follows a livestreamed author talk with George Takei at 2 p.m. the same day.
