DESCRIPTION:<p>In this hands-on program, kids will explore the games Japanese American children played during World War II. We’ll learn a little about daily life in prison camps and try out traditional Japanese games like <em>ohajiki</em>.</p><p>This program is for children in grades 1–8, with a special focus on fun, creativity and learning through play.</p><p>This program is part of One Book, One Coast, a multi-state book club. We join 193 other participating libraries in reading George Takei's graphic memoir&nbsp;<em><a href="https://sunnyvale.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?query=They%20Called%20Us%20Enemy&amp;searchType=title" target="_blank">They Called Us Enemy</a></em>. Participate in book discussions and other programs around the history of forced removal and incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.library.sunnyvale.ca.gov/events/seasonal-library-programs">View One Book, One Coast programs.</a></p><p><strong>Accessibility</strong><br>Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Sunnyvale will make reasonable efforts to accommodate persons with disabilities.
