We offer a variety of devices to meet your technology needs. All devices are available for borrowing with a Sunnyvale Library Card in good standing.

Tech Devices are available only at the Sunnyvale Main Library. They cannot be borrowed from Lakewood Branch Library and Learning Center.

Device Check out and Return

You must check out and return the devices at the Information Desk. Borrow and return External Batteries at the charger kiosk in the periodicals section.

CHROMEBOOKS

A Chromebook is a portable computer that works through Google's Chrome Browser. It does not store files. It has limited functionality when disconnected from the internet.

To protect user privacy our Chromebooks start a new session every time they’re opened. Your data is not stored.

Some things you can do with a Chromebook:

Browse the internet
Access your email
Compose and edit documents using Google Docs Editors
Borrow and read eBooks
Stream movies

WI-FI HOTSPOTS

A hotspot is a portable device that connects Wi-Fi-enabled electronic devices to the internet. To work, the device must connect to a cell tower.

Connect up to 15 Wi-Fi enabled devices to the hotspot with unlimited data at 4G LTE speeds. Internet connection speed is based on T-Mobile service for North America.

Requirement: You must be at least 15 years old to borrow a Wi-Fi hotspot.

With these lendable hotspots, our purpose is to provide free internet access to those without it.
