NOTICE: We are upgrading our 3D printing service. New appointments are not available.
Turn your digital files into three-dimensional objects for free. You can print jewelry, toys, household gadgets and more with our 3D Printer.
3D Printing Guidelines
You must:
- Be a Library patron (full or limited access card holder in good standing*), age 13 and up.
- Have and be present for your 3D printing appointment. We won't print your object without you.
- Send your single file at least 24 hours before your appointment start time. You will get submission directions in your Approval email.
- We will cancel your appointment if we don't receive your file on time.
- Your file can take at most two and a half hours to print. Your three-hour appointment accounts for preparation and maintenance.
- Adhere to relevant Library Policies.
You may:
- Have one 3D printing appointment every 6 weeks.
Note: If you can’t be present to finish your object, we will hold it for seven days.
*Good standing = you don’t owe over $100 in fines and aren’t suspended.
Equipment and Objects
We have a Dremel 3D45 3D Printer that uses a plant-based, biodegradable printing material.
- It can only print one color at a time.
- Color selection is limited, and we can’t guarantee color availability.
Your object can’t be a weapon or weapon part. We reserve the right to refuse any print request.
Our 3D Printing is thanks to support from the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library.
